2nd round of National Deworming Programme launched in Thoubal by DC

2nd round of National Deworming day, 2022 was formally launched today in Thoubal District also by the Deputy Commissioner Thoubal A.Subhash Singh, IAS. 

Speaking at the launching program held  at the Conference of DHS, CMO Complex Thoubal,Deputy Commissioner said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India launched the campaign of National Deworming in February 2015. He said such campaign will prevent the children from the various health problems cause due to the presence of worms.

CMO Thoubal Dr.Y.Nokul Singh spoke in length about the Deworming campaign. He said National Deworming Day is observed to create awarness about the importance of deworming, particularly  for  the children from the age group of 1 to 19 years who are the most vulnerable, to raise awareness on intestinal worms and attain complete eradication of soil transmitted Helminths in children. He said as per the direction from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in order to protect from the worm Albendazole tablets is administered twice a year. 

Dr.Ch.Memcha Medical Superintendent, District Hospital,Thoubal also attended the programme. She also spoke about the importance of Deworming campaign. Albendazole tablets were distributed to the schools through ZEO Thoubal. For children who are not attending the school, Anganwadi workers and ASHA facilitators will administered the tablets.
