Manipur to plant 75 lakh saplings by august this year




Mannipur chief minister N Biren Singh along with his cabinet colleagues today participated in World Environment Day 2022 celebration at Sangaiprou in Imphal. MLAs and state government officials were also present at the event. "With the prevailing situation of our environment, the observation of this day with utmost importance has become even more significant today. Over the last few years, various initiatives have been taken up to revive and safeguard our forests, lakes, water bodies, rivers and other eco-sensitive areas of the state. Further, initiatives like restoration of forests by planting 75 lakh trees by August, reviving of Lamphelpat, Green Manipur Mission, the Nambul river project, etc will play a crucial role in safeguarding our environment in the state. Let us work together to make our environment cleaner, greener and healthier. As we celebrate the 75th Year of Independence Day of India as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the state government is planning to plant 75 lakh saplings by August, Biren said on the occasion.
