Ujala Diwas and Bijli Mahptsav programme held at Saikul, kangpokpi

The District Administration Kangpokpi today celebrated the Bijli Mahotsav and Ujala Diwas at Saijang Community Hall in Saijang Village, Saikul Sub-Division, Kangpokpi district. Speaking at the function, Deputy Commissioner,  Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, said that the function is held for celebrating the Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya  as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an initiative of Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence. She said the event highlights the key achievements of the Power sector in India and the State.

She further said that the celebration function in the State will continue till tomorrow  which is jointly organised by Ministry of Power and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India in collaboration with the Government of Manipur, including NHPC, Power Grid, District Administration and Manipur State Power Distribution Company Ltd (MSPDCL). 

The function was also attended by caretaker chairman of ADC Sadar Hills Haokholal Hangshing; former Vice Chairman of ADC Thangjakam Misao, also Thangkhanphai village chief; former MDC of ADC Sadar Hills Thongjalun Mate; SDO Saikul Sub-Division Bhungba Maibam Khuman, DGM of MSPDCL Thanglalsam; Saijang village headman, officials and staffs of the government departments, locals among others.
