Police arrested two drug peddlers

 A teams of KPI-PS led by SI S. Raju Singh and S.I. Hemjamang Khongsai while conducting intensive frisking and checking near  Kalapahar Outpost along NH-2 under the overall instruction of Amrita Sinha, IPS, SP/KPI,  and under guidance of Abul Kalam ,ASP(Ops) Kangpokpi and Tholu Rocky, ASP (L/O) Kangpokpi  under the direct supervision of OC/KPI based on  the information of suspicious movement of drug peddlers on NH-2, one Chevrolet Travera, red in colour bearing Regd. No. NL05C-1984 was stopped and during checking by the Police team, the driver was found behaving in a very suspicious manner. The driver of the vehicle was preliminary questioned tactfully at the spot and he eventually admitted that he is a drug peddler transporting illegal drugs along the highway and also further admitted that suspected heroin No. 4 is concealed in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was himself identified as one Thaovikhu Mk (21) years S/o Sahriini of Laii Village, Tadubi, Senapati District.

         Upon his disclosure, due formalities and SOPs act was observed and accordingly the vehicle was duly searched in presense of executive magistrate Shri Salam Bimoljit Singh, MCS of DC Office, Kangpokpi and indipendent witnesses, Kangpokpi which lead to the recovery of 71 numbers of soap cases containing suspected Heroin No. 4  weighing 2.955 Kgs including the weight of the plastic soap cases. The approximate value of the suspected Heroin No. 4 is estimated of Rs 21,30,000/- (Twenty one  lakhs thirty thousand) only in the local market and 10,65,00000/- (Ten Crores sixty five lakhs) only in the International market.

        He further divulged that obtained the suspected Heroine No.4 from one Letkhohao Haokip (42) yrs S/o Letkhojang Haokip of T .Champhai Village ,Churachandpr. Immediate a team lead by S.I S  Raju Singh along with the team immediately rushed to  the said person's adress. And with the assistance from  Shivananda Surve,IPS, SP/ccpur , OC/ccpur  conducted search in presense of executive magistrate and indipendent witnesses at the residence of Letkhojang Haokip of T Changphai Village, Churachandpr and recovered 110 soap cases of suspected Heroin No.4 Powder was recovered from his house . He was arrested by observing formalities and the recovered 110 soap cases of suspected Heroin No.4 was Seized. The approximate value of the suspected Heroin No. 4 recovered again is estimated of Rs 33,00,00 ( Thirty - three Lakhs) only in the local market and 16,50,00000 (Sixteen Crores fifty lakhs) only in the international market. Altogether a sum Rs.271500000 (twenty seven crores fifteen lakhs only)in International Market can be seized successfully by the Kangpokpi Police Station.

      In this regard, a regular case under FIR No. 22(6)2022 KPI-PS u/s 21(c)/60(3) ND& PS Act has been registered for investigation. And both the accused persons were produced into Concern Court and remanded into Police Custody till 17/06/2022 for further investigation.
