Inaugurated a statue of the then king of Manipur, Nara Singh at Kangla

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, today inaugurated a statue of the then king of Manipur, Nara Singh at Kangla. In the function, N Biren said it was such a great honour and  true step of the government to inaugurate a statue of the brave king of Manipur who courageously fought against the British for the freedom n liberty of the people of Manipur in such a sacred place of Manipur known as Kangla. He further recalled the past unfortunate incidents which had happened to the meiteis for 7 straight years. The inauguration of such a statue by the present generation clearly shows the trust of the people of Manipur towarda Nationalism. He further added that the statue would also attract various tourists.

 Lastly he said that, the people who belong to different caste n communities who were living together in the state should develop a sense of togetherness and we all should put our continuous efforts in building a new prosperous Manipur. As a part of the function various awards were also distributed to the award winners.
