Assam rifles foils cross border smuggling of narcotics

Moreh Battalion of under the agies of IGAR (South) in a joint operation with Moreh Police foiled cross border smuggling of narcotics in Moreh on 06 April.

Based on specific input, a joint team of Assam Rifles and Moreh Police intercepted a Tata Sumo at Police Check Post.

On thorough search of the vehicle 684 grams of narcotics in 60 soap cases were recovered. The seized narcotics were assessed to be worth Rs 1.44 crore.

The recovered items along with the drug peddlers were handed over to Moreh Police for further investigation.
