IPSA President Jiribam Branch apprehended with contrabands WY tablets

JIRIGHAT: The most familiar civil organisation of Jiribam, International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA), Jiribam branch president Konthoujam Ibomcha Singh along  with two other individuals  were apprehended at Jirighat Police outpost yesterday at around 11:30 pm with contrabands WY tablets.

The persons apprehended were identified as- Konthoujam Ibomcha Singh, President, IPSA, Jiribam branch; M. Nungshithoiba Singh, Vice- President, IPSA, Jiribam branch and Huirem Kiran Kumar Singh , Govt. Teacher at residence of Hilghat, Jiribam.

As per police report, the three were quarrelled with a local at Lakhipur and  proceeded towards Jiribam in their personnel four wheeler with the name plate in the vehicle as “President IPSA” Bolero bearing registration- AS-03J-2222.

Meanwhile, the Lakhipur SDPO reported to Jirighat Police Outpost as soon as Jirighat police alerted, while the vehicle reach to the outpost,  the police signal them but they try to evade. However due to presence of barricade they could not escape and were halted with their vehicles. While checking, it was found 1600 WY in the vehicles concealed in 10 packets.

It was learnt from Jirighat Police source, the arrested persons along with the seized contraband item were handed over to Lakhipur Police for further investigation.
