Imphal West Commando, City Police conduct search operation

IMPHAL: As a part of precautionary measures to prevent any unwanted incident in and around the Imphal areas, a team of Imphal West district police commando led by OC Imphal West P. Achouba under the command of Additional SP (Ops)/ Imphal West Th. Krishnatombi Singh and under the supervision of SP Imphal West H. Jogeshchandra conducted search (combing)operation at Dharmasala in Thangal Bazar area at around 3:00 pm on Sunday.

It is reported that around 1150 male individuals were picked up from the surrounding areas of Thangal Bazar for verification where 37 male were detained and taken at City Police Station for further verification as they were unable to provide proper verification and identification documents.

The combing operation was jointly conducted by team of Imphal West commando and City Police unit and comes just a day after a CRPF jawan was killed and another injured when a grenade launched at them blasted late Saturday evening.
