Mao people to stop poppy plantation in support of 'war on drugs' The Mao Council representing Mao residents has decided to stop poppy plantation in support of the war on drugs campiagn launched by the Manipur government. In this regard, a press conference was held at CM's Secretariat in Imphal today. Alongside, the Mao Students' Organisation has also decided to plant cherry trees along the National Highway to help reduce air pollution. Manipur chief minister informed this during the press conference attended by minister Letpao Haokip and MLA Losii Dikho.
