Abdullah JAC calls 48-hour manipur wide general srike

The joint action committee (JAC) formed in connection with the death of Korimayum Abdullah has called a 48-hour Manipur wide general strike beginning 5 am of May 27. The JAC announced the decision following the state government failed to give a positive response to the demands raised by the committee. Abdullah was found dead in Imphal river section of Arong Nongmaikhong on May 16 last. The JAC and the family have alleged that he was murdered. The Abdullah JAC said mediacl emergencies, religious events, fire incidents and water supply will be exempted from the purview of the strike.
